Preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion for children in Grades 1 through 5 is included in our parish's Children's Faith Formation program. This two-year formation process is for children who have already received the Sacrament of Baptism.

A child must have the equivalent of at least two consecutive years of formation and discernment to be considered a sacramental candidate for First Communion. Sacramental preparation generally begins in the child's 1st grade and culminates in the 2nd grade with the celebration of First Communion in the Spring of the second year.

Parent participation is an essential component of this sacramental process. Parents are required to attend monthly family sessions held on a Sunday from October to May and also attend a First Reconciliation Retreat and First Communion retreat in the second year.
